KUMHO CELEBRATES START OF CONSTRUCTION OF NEW QUEENSLAND DISTRIBUTION CENTRE...

With a time honoured tradition of a SOD turning ceremony. Kumho Tyres Australia will move its distribution centre from Coopers Plains to a new purpose built facility at ESR Australia’s Sherbrooke Industrial Estate at Willawong in September 2022. Kumho Tyres has recorded strong growth in the Queensland market in recent years and this facility has been designed to meet future demand and logistics requirements.

KUMHO WINS iF DESIGN AWARDS

The Kumho ECSTA HS52 and Fin-Sread are winners of the automobiles/vehicles category at the recent "iF Design Award 2022". The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the world’s most prestigious design awards. Organised in Germany since 1953, the iF seal signifies good design, for consumers and the design community.

The ECSTA HS52 wins for ride comfort and drive performance - designed to provide drivers with a comfortable driving experience and high safety, suitable for both premium sedans and sports vehicles. By applying a solid block design to the tread pattern, the road friction pressure is kept constant when the tire is grounded, reducing impact, noise and improving ride comfort.

The Fin-Sread wins for future tyre concept - a new electronic tyre platform based on airless construction. The airless structure reduces accidents as there is no puncture, and the independent control of each unit takes care of the road surface perfectly, maximising a comfortable ride. The centre unit actively blocks out noise making it quiet.

Kumho Tyre won all four major global design awards - the German iF Design Awards, the North American IDEA, the German Red Dot Design Awards, and the Japanese Good Design Awards - last year. As a result, they showed not only the technology of the product but also the excellent design ability to the world.

Kumho Tyre Announces Major New European Tyre Manufacturing Plant

Global tyre maker, Kumho Tyre has announced the construction of a new European tyre manufacturing plant as part of the company’s strategy to expand its global production footprint and accelerate growth across the European market. The new European facility will be built at Opole in Poland and is scheduled to begin initial operations by August 2028, pending investment and regulatory approval. The first phase will support an annual production capacity of six million tires, with expansions planned according to market demand at a total investment of $AUD884 million (US$587 million). Kumho evaluated several European countries, including Poland, as potential locations for the new plant, assessing factors such as site suitability, sales growth potential, investment stability, profitability, and available incentives.

Partnership Renewal with Hockey Australia Announced

Kumho Tyre Australia has announced it will be recommitting to Hockey Australia as an official national partner, signing a new one-year deal running through the end of 2026. The agreement extends and strengthens the existing partnership after the previous renewal in 2023. Kumho Tyre will continue to support hockey at all levels - from grassroots clubs and community competitions to elite national teams such as the Kookaburras and the Hockeyroos - providing valuable backing for domestic growth and international success.

Off Road Adventurer Praises Kumho Tyre Performance After Epic Cape York Torture Test

Off road adventurer and YouTube influencer, Denny Danis has just completed a 10,000 kilometre torture test with Kumho’s brand new RT tyres , taking on Cape York and some of the harshest and toughest 4WD tracks in the country. Danis equipped his Toyota LandCruiser 79 for the adventure which saw him and his family complete the entire trip without a puncture or any issues.
