Kia Chooses Kumho HT51 As OE Fit On Its New Tasman Ute
Kumho has announced it has been selected as the original equipment (OE) tyre supplier for Kia’s much anticipated new ute/pickup, the Tasman.
The Kia Tasman will be equipped with Kumho’s Crugen HT51, an all-season tyre, designed specifically for SUVs and pickups.

The Kumho HT51, which is part of Kumho’s premium Crugen line-up for SUVs and utes, will be fitted to Tasman models sold around the world in key global markets, including Australia, South Korea, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. In Australia, the HT51 will be fitted as OE on four of the five model variants (S, SX, SX+ & X-Line).
The Kumho Crugen HT51 delivers a well-balanced driving experience and has been designed for both on and off-road driving, including sustained periods through rough terrain and in diverse weather conditions.
The Kumho HT51 combines advanced tyre technology with innovative design to deliver a quiet, comfortable ride on-road, and strong, reliable performance off-road.
Its specially engineered pattern block disperses road noise based on vehicle characteristics, helping minimise cabin sound. Optimised tread block rigidity and strategic block arrangement ensure dependable handling and braking.
For winter conditions, the HT51 features 3D block design technology and uniquely shaped grooves that enhance traction, braking, and control on snow and ice.

Senior vice president of Original Equipment Sales for Kumho Tyre, Insoo Kim, said the company was excited to supply OE tyres for the Tasman.
“This is Kia’s first-ever authentic pickup, and our continued partnership with leading global automotive brands reflects the exceptional quality of our tyres and the strength of our brand.”
Director of Sales and Marketing for Kumho Tyre Australia, David Basha said the company is pleased the new Kia Tasman will be fitted with HT51s.
“Kumho Tyre Australia has a long association with Kia as well as other leading global automotive brands including Hyundai, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, to name but a few,” said David Basha.
“We stand ready and very prepared to provide the necessary product and service for Kia Tasman owners and their Kumho HT51 tyres,” he added.
Kumho Tyre continues to strengthen its global OE portfolio, providing tyres for a range of Kia models including the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, and EV9, and the company plans to further expand its partnership with Kia, focusing on enhancing tyre performance and maximising customer satisfaction.
