Kumho Offers Premium Range That Should Not Be Underestimated

Kumho Tyres has announced a new Premium Selection Range,  which has been carefully curated with a line of tyres that represent the pinnacle of Kumho’s craftsmanship in performance and premium tyres.

The Premium Selection Range contains three different Kumho Premium tyres, catering for a wide selection of performance and premium machines, with the range including the Crugen HP71, the Ecsta PS71 and the Ecsta PS72.

Kumho Tyre’s Premium Selection Range has been formulated combining cutting-edge technology with premium materials, to offer a driving experience defined by superior traction, precision handling, and unparalleled durability. The new Kumho Premium Selection Range targets both Internal Combustion (ICE) engine vehicles and new generation electric vehicles (EV) with a variety of tyres that have been engineered for both automotive technologies and for performance and premium machines.

According to Kumho Tyre Australia’s director of sales and marketing, David Basha, the new Premium Selection Range underlines the brand’s position as a manufacturer of tyres that offer performance, equal to or better than more expensive established brands.

“The fact that many highly esteemed automotive OEMs now fit Kumho Tyres as original equipment, demonstrates the performance capability and the overall reputation and quality of our tyres,” said David Basha.

“What we are saying is that when only the best will do, the Kumho Premium Selection Range is the answer for those looking for optimum performance in their tyres to match the engineering of their vehicles at rational price levels,” he added.

“Kumho’s full range of tyres has been underestimated by many, but the many global awards and accolades they have collected, emphasises that Kumho develops and manufactures tyres that can be relied upon for premium engineering and performance,” said Basha.

“At Kumho, we know that staying ahead in the world of tyres means always pushing the limits of innovation. This is why we lead the way in technology and design, crafting tyres that set the standard in performance and quality,” said Basha. “Our award-winning tyres result from a relentless dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology, making Kumho one of Australia’s top-selling tyre brands.

“At Kumho, we will never rest on our reputation alone. Instead, we continually seek new ways to innovate and evolve – exploring new roads to drive us forward,” he said.

The new Premium Selection Range is headlined by the Kumho Ecsta PS72 Sport and Sport S which has been engineered for performance cars and offers unparalleled performance, blending cutting-edge design and advanced technology for maximum traction, precision, and durability in all driving conditions. The PS72 is set to be launched in Australia in the coming months.

The PS72 advanced tread compound increases grip and braking by up to 10 per cent over its predecessor, with a robust tread design that enhances traction and optimises water drainage, while reducing aquaplaning risks for superior control.

Ecsta PS72 also features strengthened tread blocks and high-stiffness rubber to improve handling and driving stability, delivering a responsive and controlled ride, while specialised tread compound and optimised contact patch extend tyre life by up to 25 per cent, ensuring outstanding value and reliability for long-term use.

The Kumho Ecsta PS71 is aimed at performance sportscars, SUVs and EVs and delivers exceptional performance tailored for performance-oriented machines, offering refined driving stability, precise handling, and confident braking on both wet and dry roads.

The PS71 features a high dispersion ‘Micro Silica’ tread compound which maximises wear resistance, handling precision, and fuel efficiency. The design ensures an all-around superior driving experience, while its modified tread compound enhances wet surface performance, as well as greater safety and control.

Four wide grooves efficiently channel water away from the tread for exceptional wet grip, while a high-performance resin ensures reliable traction on any surface.

Reinforced sidewalls enhance durability and control, making this tyre perfectly suited to the demands of sports and SUV driving.

The third member of the Kumho Premium Selection Range is the Crugen HP71, which is a tyre that takes innovation to the next level. It delivers an upgraded construction, reduced weight, and improved rolling resistance for a quiet, comfortable ride alongside exceptional all-weather performance.

A multi-pitch tread block variation, combined with an aerodynamic tread design, minimises road noise harmonics, while select sizes also feature K-Silent polyurethane foam inserts, which absorb air vibrations, reducing tyre noise by up to five decibels.

The HP71 features new 3D-Interlocking Sipe technology, combined with high-strength hybrid materials, which strengthen the carcass structure to deliver enhanced durability and improved safety.

The HP71 also has been designed for both SUV and EV applications and features highly dispersible micro silica and high-grip resin compound, combined with widened tread grooves, improve water drainage and aquaplaning resistance.

The Kumho Premium Selection Range is available from Kumho’s extensive network across the country including Kumho’s Platinum Dealer outlets.

A leading German tyre industry website has judged Kumho Tyre’s brand new Ecsta PS72 Sport as amongst the three top tyres in a wide spread performance tyre comparison test in Europe. Die Reifentester , which is a major German tyre website, whose name translates to “The Tyre Testers” used identical Volkswagen Golf GTIs to judge critical performance, safety and handling of eight of Europe’s best selling 225/40 ZR18 size performance tyres. The tests were overseen by leading tyre tester and former tyre developer Dirk Vincken, along with experienced motoring journalist Joachim Fischer, with the team comparing the tyres at the ATP proving ground at Papenburg in Germany. The Kumho Ecsta PS72 Sport was one of only three tyres, and the only non-European tyre in the comparison to be badged as “very good”. The testers said the Kumho performed well across the board, earning it the “very good” overall rating. Four of the seven tyres in the comparison were European manufactured, while there were two from Korean makers and one from Japan. The Kumho Ecsta PS72 Sport shared the winners’ podium with two European tyres, as the Kumho impressed in all disciplines, with good to very good results, and despite being amongst the least expensive tyres in the test.
